"I" Search Famous American Project

Lesson Summary

Students will create a PowerPoint of a famous American where they are required to research and present their findings.

Objective(s)  1. Culmination of 8th Grade history standards

CRITICAL THINKING, PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING: identify and define authentic problems and significant questions for investigation., CRITICAL THINKING, PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING:plan and manage activities to develop a solution or complete a project.

 

DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP: exhibit a positive attitude toward using technology that supports collaboration, learning, and productivity.

Technology Tools Presentation Software, Wikipedia, Internet Research, Video Streaming

 

Procedures - 1. Put students in pairs. Each group will be given a famous American. They are to conduct Internet research and complete their concept web worksheet., 2. They will log sources and create a PowerPoint presentation using a variety of presentation tools., 3. They will present their project to the class. They will complete a self evaluation of the project., 4. Students will guess which famous American the group presented.
