Lesson Title

Artist Research Movie Presentation

Lesson Summary

This will be a three part project. The first part consists of doing research on an artist of your choice (however, each artist may only be chosen once!) Once you have researched your artist, you will create an informational movie, using iMovie, about your artist. Your movie will consist of images that you pull off of the internet. All of the images need to tell us about your artist, however most of your images should consist of works that your artist made. You will also include voiceovers in your movie that tell us about your artist and the works they created. Now, that you know a lot about your artist, including where and when they made their art, you will create a song on Garage Band that goes along with your presentation. Your song must fit your artist, the type of work they created along with considering popular music during the time period in which your artist was working.

Objective(s)  1. Students will use the internet and other resources to obtain information about an artist of their choice, along with images that relate to that artist. , 2. Students will present what they have learned about their artist in a movie (on iMovie) that includes images and voiceovers of pertinent and informative information., 3. Students will also create a song on Garage Band that reflects their artist, the work they made and time period that will be integrated into their movie., 4. Students will first grade and reflect on their own project along with research, reflect and grade their peer's works.
