Students will create a presentation using Powerpoint or Open Office Presentation software to share information about their explorer. This presentation will provide a guideline for their oral presentation.

Objective(s)  1. Students will create a presentation describing basic facts and accomplishments of an explorer., 2. Students will give a presentation, sharing facts and teaching other students about an explorer.

Technology Tools Presentation Software, Internet Research, Wikipedia, Image Software

Procedures - 1. After receiving their assigned explorer, students will go online to Google Images and find an image of their explorer, an image of the exporer's means of transportation, and an image of a place the explorer discovered. Students will save image to their desktop., 2. Using Wikipedia and Google, students will find date of birth and death of their explorer, where the explorer was born, how the explorer traveled, what country sponsored the explorer, and major accomplishments or discoveries of the explorer., 3. Students will use Powerpoint or Open Office Presentation software. Slide 1: Import explorer image. Write information about date of birth and death, and where the explorer was born. Slide 2: Import means of travel image. Write information about means of travel and who sponsored explorer. Slide 3: Import place image. Write information about discoveries and accomplishments., 4. Students will present their digital presentation to class.
