Gabrielino PowerPoint


Lesson Summary


After learning about the Gabrielinos, each student creates a Powerpoint slide. Using Kid Pix, students create a digital drawing of an aspect of Gabrielino life (environment,shelter, food, clothing, hunting & fishing). Students import Kid Pix picture into PowerPoint slide. Students write about important facts related to that part of Gabrielino life. All student slides are incorporated into one Gabrielino PowerPoint project.


Objective(s)  1. Social Science 3.2- Students describe the American Indian nations in their local region long ago and in the recent past., 2. Students create Gabrielino picture in kidpix and saves it., 3. Student creates Powerpoint slide with relevant facts depicting assigned aspect of Gabrielino life and saves it. , 4. Student imports kid pix picture into PowerPoint slide, saves it, and puts it in my hand-in file.

Procedures - 1. Assign each student one aspect of Gabrielino life (environment, shelter, food, clothing, hunting & fishing). , 2. Using kid pix, student creates a picture of the topic he/she was assigned in step 1, 3. Using Powerpoint, student creates slide and writes 3-4 facts that relate to the picture they have created, 4. Student imports kid pix picture into Powerpoint slide
 


Assessment Picture and text accurately reflect assigned aspect of Gabrielino life.
