Scout's Honor Research Project

 

Lesson Summary

 

The project is two-fold. The first is to research the Boy Scout camping and then determine the distance between New York and New Jersey. In the story, three boys are determined to earn their first Boy Scout badge. The first requirement is to complete an overnight camping trip in the 'country'. The story is about their misadventures which led to an ill-fated camping trip. The students will present their findings in an oral presentation using Powerpoint.

 

Objective(s)  1. Student will determine the best tools necessary to camp in the 'country'., 2. Student will research the distance, via the subway, between New York (Brooklyn Bridge)and New Jersey (Washington Bridge)., 3. Student will present findings in oral presentation using Power Point., 4. Student will use online resources to determine the best camping tools and how to get to New Jersey.
