Students will research a specific element online to gather information. They will understand that each element has distinct properties and an atomic structure. They will conduct their research and use the information to create a brochure.
Objective(s) 1. Students will conduct research on the internet to find out information about an element. They will be required to find specific information such as the history and atomic structure of the element., 2. Students will organized the information to create a brochure. Each pannel will have specified information. The brochure will be created using a Word Document or some other computer program., 3. Students will be required to email the project to the teacher and another student in the class. , 4. Students will also take a quiz online that demonstrates their knowledge of basic chemistry. They will need to email their scores to their teacher.

Technology Tools Online Quizzes, Email, Internet Research, Word Processing
Procedures - 1. Students will be given a worksheet that list the information that is required to be reserached. Before they leave for the first day in the computer lab, the teacher will sign off stating that they completed the required reserach., 2. Students will use a word document to create a three pannel brochure. Each pannel will have specific information so that it is organized. They will include an image taken from the internet to include on their brochure. , 3. Students will take an online quiz to ensure they understand the atomic structure of an element and how they are arranged on the periodic table. , 4. Students will not only print out a hard copy of their brochure, they will also email the project to the teacher and another student. Included in the email will be their score on the online quiz.
Assessment Brochures will be graded on the completness of the information and the organization of the pannels. Students will be required to turn in their questioneer for rough draft points. Students will recieve a reply email with the grade they earned.
