A New Discovery Brochure

This project helps to reinforce student learning of the levels organization. It is interactive. Students are required to complete a PowerPoint brochure style presentation with links to their research and information. The final activity is to present this interactive brochure to the class. Students will include and avatar of their "new discovered species", links to their environment, and other information.
Objective(s) 1. Students know plants and animals have levels of organization for structure and function, including cells, tissues, organs, organ systems, and the whole organism., 2. Students know organ systems function because of the contributions of individual organs, tissues, and cells. The failure of any part can affect the entire system., 3. Students know how bones and muscles work together to provide a structural framework for movement.,

Technology Tools Animation Software, Online Quizzes, Presentation Software, Internet Research
Procedures - 1. The teacher will review the How to do PowerPoint presentation., 2. The teacher will demonstrate how to create a avatar using the Voki.com site., 3. Students will follow the directions given in the handout., 4. Teacher will monitor student progress. Project should take about 3 class periods. Students are asked to bring a flash drive to save images and information and final document.
